I first approached John F Harvey in 1964. My wife and I were starting to develop a small craft business, which has since flourished. We also run a pedigree herd of Welsh Black Cattle on our farm near Parkmill in Gower. We dealt initially with Mr Eric Leah, then Mr David Husband. For about twenty years now we have dealt with Mr John Husband and his efficient staff, who have always taken great care of our affairs to ensure everything is kept in order and to minimise tax liabilities. Their advice has gone further on many occasions than just preparing annual accounts. We value their advice as we make decisions going forward.

In a relatively short space of time, they have supported our business as it evolved from a sole trader to a partnership and then into a limited company. They guided us through what could have been a complex transition and made the whole process feel seamless.

They now manage all of our ongoing accounting and tax requirements, including bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, year end accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns. Alongside this, they provide clear and proactive advice around our business structure, dividend planning, and wider tax planning.

From the outset, they identified that we should have been VAT registered and took full control of the situation. They prepared VAT returns for the previous 12 months, dealt directly with HMRC, and resolved the matter without us incurring any fines or penalties. Since then, they have continued to manage our VAT and bookkeeping efficiently, initially using QuickBooks and more recently moving us across to Xero. The transition was smooth and works perfectly alongside our digital invoicing system, Service M8.

Throughout our time with John F. Harvey, they have consistently provided clear, practical advice that is easy to understand and are always quick to respond to any queries. This has been particularly valuable given that we are based in Saffron Walden in the east of England, some distance from their office in Swansea.
